Our Gotlands
The Gotlands are Martin’s delight! These handy silver sheep are prolific and dependable mothers that give us twins and the occasional set of triplet lambs every year…but not too worry about the triplets, these ewes provide ample milk! The fiber is delicious, ranging in all the shades of gray imaginable with a hand much like mohair in the lambs and silken curls everywhere! We have made the difficult decision to disperse our Gotland flock this year. We have several absolutely beautiful rams that represent the culmination of years of selective breeding. These rams are truly, some of the best Gotlands in the USA. The Gotland ewes listed below are registered with the AGSS but some are unregistered production ewes. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. If you have been watching Martin’s Gotland breeding program thru the years you know the high standards he has upheld. Same ram as in the above video, just shorn naked here, to reveal his lovely physique! This picture was taken right after he returned home from the show where he won his class and went on to be judged the Supreme Champion Gotland Ram. Wondering if he passes on his traits? His son was the Reserve Supreme Champion so yes, he most certainly does!
In the 2023 AGSS National Wool Show his lamb fleece placed 2nd in a lineup of 52 fleeces entered! In the 2025 AGSS National Wool Show, his yearling fleece placed first. He is quality and has held it into maturity. If we had not made the decision to disperse the flock, we would never sell this animal.
