Teeswater Lamb #1395 Rinsed Locks Fleece 2Lbs 10oz!
Here is what Shepherds Lane is known for, incredible Teeswaters! The fiber is as alive and exciting as are the sheep that produce it. This breed is listed on the watch list of the Rare Breeds Trust in the UK, the country of its origin, and has recently been added as a rare breed on the Livestock Conservancy here in the USA. (Our flock is in the “Shave Em to Save Em” program…just let me know if you are participating and I will include your SE2SE label.) The Teeswaters have been established here by using semen and an upgrading program which we have helped to establish and continue to support with genetics and high quality breeding stock. Our flock numbers around 50 to 75 head so fleeces are always in stock as they are usually shorn twice a year.
This fleece is the first lamb clip off one of our young ewes. Each well purled lock ends in a delicate little lamb tip. It has super bright luster and a soft silky hand. Staple length is truly wonderful as much of this fleece is at seven to eight inches long. You won’t be disappointed with this fiber..it’s wonderful! The weight is 3 pounds! I rinse my Teeswaters before shearing so there is only light grease and it is well skirted so no waste. A light wash and you will be stunned at how bright this fiber is! Consistent character and curls throughout the selection. This fleece could easily be repackaged and sold by the ounce. Hoping this becomes something truly wonderful in the hands of the right artist. Fantastic stuff….Enjoy!
