Valais Blacknose Fantastical Felt Collar "Ivory"
This amazing art piece has been brought into being by my friend and talented designer, Baya Batomunkueva, the dynamic Siberian felting artist that is the creative energy behind Unifelt of Portland. Baya uses our very best Shepherds Lane fiber in her work and we are proud to be marketing this design here.
I am particularly proud of this stunning piece as the long locks have been harvested from our Valais Blacknose ram, The Admiral, the first 75% lamb to be born in the USA. His gorgeous fiber puts this collar over the top! The flounce, the bounce, the attitude of quiet power that emanates from this piece is not only visual but tactile as well. This is where the unique characteristics of the Valais really take their place in high fashion and beyond. Expect to see more of this on the runway.
The contrasting wool that surrounds the neck is Corriedale. Not just any Corriedale, but Ruppert’s Corriedale, a name well known in the fiber world for their top flock and the fiber they produce. The perfect pairing of fiber…and of friends.
The piece is as light as air on your shoulders and the instant you put it on, you begin to feel like a queen!
Each piece is made to order. Once requested, allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.
